Aim: To revitalise the Wadeville Industrial Area.
Goal: Establishing an Industrial Park pilot for Eco Industrial Parks in South Africa.
Status: City of Ekurhuleni have identified 15 projects to be implemented as part of their Revitalisation Project, of which five (5) are focused on electricity supply and distribution, project managers in the municipal team have been assigned. There has been limited direct engagement, and the industry is currently in a loose holding pattern, awaiting a progress report and the identification of next step. The electricity forum that was established to manage meetings between Ekurhuleni and the Wadeville Industrial Group has stalled since the last meeting in 2021, and was only restored in late 2023.
